Butter Cookies In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and salt. In a medium bowl using a hand mixer, beat butter and sugar until light. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.

  1. It's 3 cups of flour.
  2. You need 1 of egg.
  3. You need 250 g of butter.
  4. It's 1 cup of sugar.
  5. Prepare 1 tablespoon of flavour(I use vanilla).
  6. It's 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Butter Cookies instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sugar and butter till soft and fluffy.
  2. Add egg and mix well.
  3. Add flavor.
  4. Sieve flour and mix with baking powder.
  5. Add the flour & baking powder mixture to the butter and egg mixture and knead.
  6. Use your cookie cutter and cut out the shape.
  7. Bake for 20mins and allow to cool before serving.

It had to be buttery, a little crumbly (like shortbread), and not too sweet. I think these are the Worlds Best Butter Cookie, courtesy of Chef Alice Medrich. I made the ice box version because it's so quick. Used colored sugar to make them pretty. I really need to find an easy to use cookie press because I'd love to make the spritz version.
